Sept 1-7: Oregon State Fair
The Oregon State Fair Celebrates 150 years! This special occasion features new physical and visual enhancements that honor the fair’s past and launch it into a new and exciting future. You’ll find a plethora of exhibitions & displays, competitions, attractions, animals, entertainment, and of course food and drink.
Sept 5-7: Art in the Pearl
Named one of the top 10 Arts and Crafts Festivals in the country, Art In The Pearl showcases music, art, theater and activities for all ages. This Labor Day weekend festival spans the Northwest Portland Park blocks and is completely free!
Sept 6: Tour de Lab
Suit up in your best K9 attire or bring a stuffed pooch to the Lucky Lab’s Tour de Lab! This 19 mile or 40 mile urban bike ride commences at the Lucky Labrador Brewing Company, tours multiple local pubs, and ends with a costume contest, beers, and hotdogs. Organize a pack of three and you can ride for FREE!
Sept 10: First Responder’s Tribute & Business Fair
Gateway Area Business Association presents the 14th First Responders Tribute. This free event is packed with food & drinks, comedy, live music, a beer garden and fun for all ages. Special events include a flag ceremony, live drone demonstration, and a gun salute.
Sept 12: Orange MAX Line Grand Opening
Portland transit welcomes its newest member—the MAX Orange Line! On this day ALL rides on MAX, TriMet buses, Portland Streetcar and the Aerial Tram will be completely free. Many of the new Orange Line stations will host fun activities and entertainment!
Sept 15: El Grito Festival
Come gather in Pioneer Courthouse Square for the El Grito Festival. This event celebrates Mexican & Central American Independence and features authentic cuisine, Aztec dancers, live music and much more!
Sept 17-20: Feast Portland
Feast Portland invites you to join them on their quest to showcase the work and creativity that is driving America’s food revolution. Now four years strong, this festival provides an endless array of beer, wine, cheese, exquisite cuisine, culinary specialists and even cooking classes!
Sept 21-28: Oregon Independent Film Festival
The Oregon Independent Film Festival travels from Eugene to The Clinton Street Theatre in Portland with over 70 films from 11 countries. The festival’s collection of new independent films will be screened by audiences for over a week and will close with an award after-party!
Sept 25: American Indian Day Celebration
The Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board and other local Indian organizations invite you to join this celebration at Pioneer Courthouse Square. Traditional dancers, drummers, musicians and artisans will fill the space for all to enjoy!
